Most 3D printers will give you parts that will satisfy form and fit checks but they will fall way short on functional strength requirements.  If they are not inherently weak just after 3D printing, they will usually become brittle and will crack within the first year.  Most traditional 3D prints will only be as strong as the parent material, and we know from many thousands of use cases by friends and colleagues, that PLA, ABS, PETG, etc are not suitable where moderate loads are concerned.

Metal X Design Stage

DESIGN

Design your part in CAD with design for FDM 3D printing considerations in mind.

PRINT

The 3D printer makes the part shape out of a plastic with metal paricles inside it.  To account for shrinkage, the parts are scaled up.

Metal X Print Sinter Stage

SINTER

After removing some of the plastic in a washing station, the part is sintered in a furnace.  The part is then fused into a solid.

The final part is now ready for use and can be machined and processed just the same as any other metal part.
